Sky as seen from Mars?
I am aware that there are many examples of planetarium software that carry
out the appropriate calculations to give the positions of the stars and planets as seen from any location on the surface of the Earth. Are there any such programs that do the same for the Martian sky? |

Stellarium also lets you choose Mars as your viewing location, but you have to input lat/lon yourself for specific Martian locations. -- Pd |

It is the Earth seen from Mars which genuine astronomers would look for and especially its orbital phases as the polar coordinates will be seen to turn in a circle and through the circle of illumination and to the central Sun -something like this montage of Venus - http://www.masil-astro-imaging.com/S...age%20flat.jpg Of course, the empirical contingent still adhere to flawed stellar circumpolar modeling which restricts all observed motion within the confines of the calendar system henc e the lack of priorities is sending these instruments to other planets. |
