I could scarcely keep open my eyes - but it was a really good account of
the challenges involved. Just hope the mission succeeds and gives this
willing and cheerful team behind Beagle a major space exploration success.
Doubtless "Sir Colin Pillinger" would arise soon after. And deserved.

Richard

Was it a repeat of the two they did back to back about a month ago?

via the Radio 4 archive.

Because it's a British achievement.
I'm in the mood for a serious rant, so here goes. They should drop the
"British" from their name. Anything from our masters across the Atlantic
gets top billing, and we are going to be overwhelmed by programs full of
"revelations" and "new information" about the Wright Brothers later this
year.
But did you see anything about the anniversary of the double helix? You
did not. You didn't see a repeat of the "Life Story" programme, which
won a prize for best documentary of the last 50 years (now that does
make sense. They wouldn't want to show just how bad the current output
is).
Of course a spectacular failure does make the news, and if Beagle 2
fails we will hear about it. We'll probably be told it's a waste of
taxpayers' money, too.

They did a show about the original effort of Colin Pillinger to raise the
funds etc., but this showed all the development right up to the end
(including the launch) Last nights episode was on for an hour and I thin
klast weeks was a long one as well.

This one showed Damien Hurst painting his dot's and also things like the
parachute testing in America.

Sounds like a repeat but with the launch tacked on.

Cheers
