Default New to group - photography question

Good evening.

My wife has asked me what I would like for Xmas, (very kind of her).

I've been toying with the idea for some years now to go back to my old 'late
teens / early twenties' hobby of 'pointing a telescope at the sky'.

I hope to get a Skywatcher telescope at whatever budget the other half can
afford and would like to be able to take photographs. (Back in my teens,
all images were hand-drawn). I have a Fujipix S5700 which has a 46mm
filter thread and wondered if it would be suitable, or do I need something
else.

I'm afraid I'm a complete numpty when it comes to this and any advice would
be most welcome.

TiA
