Why does God hate Florida?
Simple. Because they have a governor named Bush. -- ----- Joe S. "Moon River" wrote in message news:7to%c.154495$X12.103709@edtnps84... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3449870/ |

Anyhoo, I thought it was because they haven't fixed their election system since the 2000 debacle. Shawn |

God doesn't hate Florida.
But when you capitalize everything, it's hard to tell what you mean, and He may become confused... What God REALLY hates it Flatulence... The correct question is why do people continue to build expensive coastal homes in a state that is frequented by hurricanes? Eventually the insurance companies are going to say 'enough is enough'. You can insure just about anything if you're willing to pay enough. Anyhow, the whole state doesn't get wiped out every year. Florida has a state windstorm pool that covers properties in paricularly bad locations. You have to have a big deductible and the rates are fairly high. |

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3449870/ It's not as if the weather knows that millions of people insist on living in that area in totally unsuitable buildings. Was there an indigenous population before the modern buildings went up? What was the usual form of home like? Packed earth dome? Adobe? Every time you see an active hurricane covered on TV there are sheets of ****-cheap metal cladding peeling off something. Ready to wreck something downwind. What about the lethal, highly vulnerable, overhead power lines? Is that to save money? For whom? How do trailer homes even get permission to enter Florida? Are there buildings standards for steel cable guy lines and reinforced fixing points to match the strength of compulsory ground anchors? You're supposed to adapt to adverse conditions. Not thumb your noses at them. Intelligence and building seem to have taken a divergent path in Florida. Chris.B |

The weather patterns have now changed. Regards, Bruce Hitting reply is futile, use the following: ). |
