Never smart to wait until the last minute.

Hundreds or thousands of millennia is way hardly the last minute.

By that time we'll likely either, have poisoned ourselves out of
existence, or evolved to something smarter. My money's on the first.

If we see the Andromeda central black hole coming toward us we should have plenty of time to migrate out of the way.

Should that ever be the case, which is highly unlikely, migrate to
where, and how ? Even at near or equal to light speed, also highly
unlikely, it'd take many years to get anywhere.

The merge of the galaxies is so very far away, as to make such
discussions pointless in any case.
