Default Crew Checks Out Exercise Equipment

Crew Checks Out Exercise Equipment

After an off-duty day Sunday, the Expedition 10 crewmembers -- Commander
Leroy Chiao and Flight Engineer Salizhan Sharipov -- got to work Monday
performing scientific experiments and routine maintenance.

Their primary activity was the semiannual maintenance and checkout of the
treadmill.
Also on Monday, Sharipov prepared the hardware for a Russian biomedical
experiment. Chiao talked via amateur radio with students at Rockland
District High School in Rockland, Maine.

Chiao and Sharipov worked most of the day Saturday on the International
Space Station's toilet, which failed Friday. They replaced several
components and restored it to full operation. While it was out of order, the
crew used the toilet in the docked Soyuz spacecraft.

A reboost of the Station is planned for 6:22 P.M. CST Tuesday (0022 GMT
Wednesday). Flight controllers will send the commands to raise the Station's
orbit while the crew sleeps.
