Default something really important

Can anyone please tell me the name of the artist that sang the song "Tracks
of my tears" in the sample video on the windows 95 installation cd. This
has been bugging me for some time now. It is a Smokey Robinson song that
has been covered by lot of artists over the years. The version that
appeared on the windows 95 cd has got to be the best ever and I can't even
find out the name of the artist. I lost my copy of windows 95 years ago but
that song has been banging around in my head ever since and I would love to
hear it again..

Give me a little more to go on and I am sure I can find out. Male
or female? Black person? White? Anything else that may help.

It was a she. A young twenty something white female with an all male backing
group. Memory is a terribly hard thing to pin down. The harder I try to
remember the less sure I am that the song was "Tracks of my tears".
But I do remember that there was only two sample videos in the mpg section.
One was taken from the TV program "Happy Days" and the other is the one I
am searching for..

Hello? Anyone home? This is alt.astronomy.
The whole point of newsgroups is that they are specialist forums.
Try alt.windows95, or alt.os.windows95, or comp.windows.misc, or one of
the microsoft.public groups, or a music group, or try a search engine.

Postman, could it be Linda Ronstadt? She's not twenty-something,
but I hear background singers.
There's also Mary Beth Mariarz. I hear background singers there, but
at least one of them is female.
And there's someone named Brenda Russell, who's black, but doesn't
really "sound" black OR white. Pleasant though. Background singers,
but sound like females included. Same scene with Dianne Reeves.
In case you're wondering, I use the Rhapsody music service. Sign
up for a free trial and go hunting.
Sorry Mr. Postman. There are 30 listings, but those 4 are the only
'good' candidates. There's Aretha and Gladys Knight, and more,
but they're not close to what you describe.
I bet it's Linda R.. Her version is a popular cover of that song.

Postman,

The name of the video is goodtime.avi. It doesn't tell the name of the
artist, but does reference "1994 Geffen Records". I'm not sure, but she may
be Edie Brickell.

That's it, I believe. I listened to a song named "Good Times" by
Edie Brickell, wife of Paul Simon. There are male background
vocals. Album:"Picture Perfect Morning", Geffen Records 1994.

The chorus, in the song on W95, is "Good times bad times, give me some of
that..."

Good Times

Edie Brickell

You don't even have to try

It comes easy for you

The way you move is so appealing

It could make me cry

Go out driving with my friends

In Bobby's big old beat up car

I'm with a lot of people then

I wonder where you are

Good times, bad times, give me some of that

Good times, bad times, give me some of that

Good times, bad times

I don't want to say goodbye

Don't want to walk you to the door

I spend a little time with you

I want a little more

Good times, bad times, give me some of that

Good times, bad times, give me some of that

Good times, bad times, give me some of that
