Bright star in the SE

Default Bright star in the SE

I have been noticing the last few nights a very bright pulsating star
in the SE, Im in Omaha, ne, at about 9pm. Its about 1/3 above horizon
- pulsating like a diamond, red, blue lights. Im a rookie at this -
whats the name of the celestial body I observed?

The star Sirius in the constellation Canis Major. The brightest star in the sky!

Welcome to the group Bruce! As others have said, it sounds like Sirius.
I'm about 80 miles or so northeast of you, in Iowa.
