Default Solar Eclipse observation & Baffling

Hi,

If a scope shows solar eclipse with totally black corona. Does
it mean the scope is fully baffled and reflections free? There
is some advertising their scopes to be fully baffled and
reflections free because it can show the blackness of the
sun during solar eclipse. Or is this not a good test for
deflecting stray light?

Thanks.

If a scope shows black where black should be, and light where light
should be, then it sounds like it is well baffled. Chances to test a
scope on a solar eclipse are relatively rare, full moons are more
common, and last much longer. If you are going to view a solar
eclipse, why waste eclipse time worrying about your scope's baffling?

Cheers,
Larry G.
