"Klingon" can refer either to a fictional race of extraterrestrials which "exist" only in stories or to a real language which exists in the real world. I don't think making a distinction between the two is splitting hairs. And to reply in the same spirit, don't assume I'm a Trekkie. I learned Klingon because it's a fun language, not because I want to focus part of my life on a television show. |

Most of the actors in the Trek movies did a good job. That makes sense, since they were coached by the creator of the language. There are a few notable exceptions where the pronunciation guidelines weren't clearly understood by the people speaking the lines, but for the most part it's well done. Sometimes it's even good enough to recognize what they're saying without the subtitles, especially Christopher Lloyd's character. |

Nutjob De Bohne believes they are real and that he is one of them. And to reply in the same spirit, don't assume I'm a Trekkie. But I have to say that anyone who knows Klingon is, by default, a Trekkie, even if they never watch the show. Jade |
