ED CONRAD DISCOVERIES and PILTDOWN HOAX
On 4 Feb 1998 "Mark Bare" wrote to talk.origins (Evolutionists' Heaven): You might as well start kill-filing ole eddy now because, no matter what you say, he will never believe you and will just continually repeat his tired old pontificating and bad science. The Smithsonian finally gave up writing him and it made the little boy mad so if several scientists in the field, a field I must add that he has NO FORMAL TRAINING IN, can't convince him best to let him play alone with his inccarate information and know-it-all primitive god. Your page is a HOAX, eddy...I just don't know why you haven't called it the Piltdown man yet? ====================== Thank you, Mark, for bringing up the subject of the Piltdown HOAX. The Piltdown Man, which had been accepted for the longest time as a legitimate breakthrough in the search for true answers about man's ancestry, has only gone to prove that certain members of the established scientific community have long been playing both ends against the middle. They're quick to support discoveries that Big Brother insists they support and adamantly deny others if it is Big Brother's wish that they belittle physical evidence and look the other way. The Piltdown Fraud had been perpetrated by just one man or a few. But, around the time of its "discovery," many so-called "experts" did have an opportunity to examine it and call a spade a spoof. Some undoubtedly were well aware that the specimen bore a certain stench -- visible file markings on the teeth, for one thing -- yet, back then, they never breathed a word of doubt about its authenticity. The bottom line is that, in order to protect their vested interests, they knew it best to keep their big mouths shut. Scientists WILL DO THAT, for fear of rocking their boat. The bottom line is deceit, deception, collusion and conspiracy. On the other hand, those same Vested Interest-heads have reared their ugly head concerning the discovery of petrified human and other bones between anthracite veins in Carboniferous strata, a place where established science has long insisted they couldn't be found. This time, however, the shoe is on the other foot. Instead of being a participant in the perpetration of a fraud to serve their own purpose as was done with Piltdown Man, they've risen in unison to deny the abundance of physical evidence staring them in the face. Alas, the bottom line is that members of the scientific establishment get you coming and going. They won't give a sucker -- namely me, who has taken them on -- an even break. Fortunately, after so many years in the case of the Piltdown Fraud, some honest, courageous scientists finally stepped forward to right a grievous wrong. The Piltdown Man got what he deserved, removal from the Book of Scientific Truth. As for the petrified bones, I remain confident that there are some honest, courageous scientists other disciplines with a ringside seat to the cat-and-mouse game between Truth and Falsehood. But will they ever stand up and show some integrity and courage, as a true scientist should? THAT is the burning question.
