Default Mars the God of war and the American stupidity ; Extinction

Mars is close to earth every 2 years,

Certain readers of this newsgroup evidently need to take more care to
notice which newsgroups the articles that they read are posted to; and
those who choose to reply should be even more thoughtful on the matter.

The last entry in FAQ A.5 refers, though could be reinforced; A.6
definitely applies.

====

Extinction (change subject if replying to this bit) :

The word appears absent from the FAQ; it might fit in Sections O/P/Q.

Heavens-above chooses to disregard sighting below 10 deg.

I can here see Mars from 5 deg up (currently 100% extinction below that,
because of a roof; near enough from 0 deg, 1 deg, in the country).

Presumably someone has the figures for (a) a clear atmosphere, (b) a
typical UK atmosphere, at a few reasonable angles - maybe elevations of
90, 40, 20, 10, 5, 2, 1 deg ???
