Moon and Mars expeditions vs. RLV development
I do find it interesting that as far as I can tell that SS1 has been
test-flown more often in the past year than any single space shuttle has in a single year. Corrections? Also ArmadilloAerospace hope to do test hops in the next few weeks. If past tests are anything to go by they again will probably launch/test hop more than once a week. Both appoaches while not orbital show faster turn-around times than the shuttle can hope to reach. Any good RLV must have a shorter turn-around time to keep the cash flow coming. Earl Colby Pottinger -- I make public email sent to me! Hydrogen Peroxide Rockets, OpenBeos, SerialTransfer 3.0, RAMDISK, BoatBuilding, DIY TabletPC. What happened to the time? http://webhome.idirect.com/~earlcp |

The Space Shuttle is never test flown. It flies a nominal mission as best it can, testing the envelope only occurs during accidents and non-nominal events. |
