JRS: In article , seen in
news:uk.sci.astronomy, Aidan Karley posted at Thu, 8 Jan 2004 02:57:42 :- http://www.merlyn ..demon.co.uk/astro2.htm#No. I decipher that as being "http://www.merlyn.demon.co.uk/astro2.htm#No" (instead of the home page for Merrill Lynch, beancounters to the rich and extremely rich) I don't pander to deficient newsreaders. A newsreader should recognise ... bracketing of URLs, with or without URL:[ ], whether or not split by line-break. Took me a couple of seconds to twig that "NUSA" stands for news:uk.science.astronomy in your notation. Never try to understand something until you have glanced at the whole of it once. The explanation followed. Here's one you can add to your list : the claim that prior to Columbus, people thought that the Earth was flat. That's history, not astronomy. Perhaps someone else could do historical & literary errors. I remember being in Gostinitsa Ukraina - noisy plumbing. -- © John Stockton, Surrey, UK.
