Default ASTRO: NGC 7293 Helix nebula

While searching for something different I found an image of the Helix nebula NGC 7293 that I have not posted yet. Data was obtained in September 2015.
This nebula only gets 16 degrees above horizon here and apart from city lights and dust I also lost a number of frames (especially OIII) to clouds. Still the fast telescope (f/2.2) managed to get enough data for an image.

I made a Ha:OIII:OIII colour image.

Taken from Berlin with a Celestron RASA on a G11 mount, Trius SX694 camera, Baader highspeed Ha and OIII filters, 26x3min Ha, 12x3min OIII.

Very nice stars for something that low. I tried it as one of the very first objects I took with my system back in 2006, even before I had any filters. Stars were horrid and I never tried again. Didn't help that only the inner part fit on my chip. I'd need a 4 panel mosaic to cover it all. I'd need for unusually great nights and I'm lucky to get one a year that low.

I thought I was the one to lose files on the hard disk.

I have lots of "lost" data on my harddisk. As I don't keep track of what I have imaged I often forget about old data. Sometimes I don't even have notes about the equipment I have used and have to take an educated guess after checking the image scale. I would guess that about a third of the data I have acquired in the last few years has not been processed.
A lot of that data isn't really worth being processed anyway...
