It's looking for lively things... it must be "Voyeur". :-)

I was going to suggest that if "curiosity" is to be replaced by a kind
of curious explorer, they could call it "Scientist"? Nah. That's
hardly a more exciting name. "Investigator"? Why not "Sam Spade"? But
there are plenty of names to choose from if one wants more of the
same.

Some names belong to other countries' history. Thus, if Canada were
ever to get involved, "Voyageur" and "Courieur-de-bois" might be
possibilities (Voyager, of course, and Woods-runner).

There were a lot of more appropriate, less "blah" names to choose
from...

ARTHUR C. CLARKE
SIR EDMUND HILLARY
RAY BRADBURY
CARL SAGAN

But we get "Curiosity". Ugh.

Hmmm, The "Sir Arthur C Clarke" ought to be kept for the first rotating
manned station, the "Sir Edmund Hillary" for a rover heading up Mount
Olympus and didn't one of the Viking landers get a retrospective "Carl
Sagan"? Bradbury and his sand yachts would be good though.

No. That name should be reserved for the first "First Contact".
