ASTRO: M13 - QHY2Pro First Light
Recently I made first (test) shots with my chinese QHY2Pro CCD camera.
Here is M13, a 100 secs single shot, only through UV-IR cut filter. Location: Cakovec, Croatia, Europe. May 28, 2008. around 02h UT. I used my 8" F/5 Newtonian at prime focus (combined with Baader coma corrector) for imaging and a QHY5 camera attached on Zeiss 300 mm telephoto lens for autoguiding. The mount was Skywatcher EQ6 SynScan Pro. Autoguiding software was PHD Guiding. I made single shot only for testing. I plan to stack more frames in future. Comments and suggestions are most welcome! Greetings, Gordan -- "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork." (Psalm 19:1) |

ASTRO: M13 - QHY2Pro First Light
Congratulations to your successful first light. As far as I know the QHY2Pro
has the same chip as my SXV-H9, so I'm confident that it will give you a lot of fun. Was this with 2x2 binning? The image looks sharp enough to post a larger version if you have one. Thank you for comment!
This was without binning (full resolution) Here's the bigger version (original size, just cropped a bit). I need more exposures to remove the noise. Gordan "Stefan Lilge" wrote in message ... Thank you, Rick!
See the larger version of my M13 (in my reply to Stefan). "Rick Johnson" wrote in message ... Gordan wrote: Recently I made first (test) shots with my chinese QHY2Pro CCD camera. ASTRO: M13 - QHY2Pro First Light
Gordan,
the larger version looks really good. Stars are sharp and tight like they should be in a globular pic. As far as I could see on the net your new camera has the same chip as my SXV-H9 camera, so I am quite sure that you will get good results also on fainter objects than M13.
