Intes MK-69 (6" f/6 Mak-Cass 900mm fl) Celestron CI-700 Mount (don't cringe Richard) QHY8 I have been working too much to image much, I did manage this while testing the retro mount. I have added the Gemini Astronomical Positioning System to the mount and will have to wait for some clear nights to get it dialed in. I've been seeing most of the excellent images you guys have been posting. Keep up the great work! -- John N. Gretchen III N5JNG NCS304 http://www.tisd.net/~jng3 |

looks like pretty good data John and the color is nice. Wonder if you could
try bringing up the shadows a bit without showing noise... -- Regards, Doug W. www.photonsfate.com "John N. Very nice image John.
Is the CI-700 the same mount you used some years ago when you were imaging with the MX5C? Does this mean that you were not satisfied with the Sphinx SXD? I'm asking because after hauling the G11 and the 10" scope out to my car two day last week I was thinking about buying a Sphinx SXD as a "travel" mount to carry my C8 for visits under dark skies... How you like the QHY8 now that you have a few images from it? Why the mount change? Of the three CI-700, CG-5 and the Sphinx which did you prefer for your short tube scopes? I've only seen the CG-5 and it was failing to hold a 10" f/6 for visual use. Way too bouncy for me anyway. But that is a long lever arm and a lot more weight compared to your scopes.
