And they let this guy direct air traffic.

A fragment of the comet 73P / Schwassmann - Wachmann 3 should hit the
Earth at this date. The arguments presented are really impressive and
we should also read the end notes links too, especially the one on the
correlation between UFO and atomic tests. We could surely do something
before that event to save lives around.

That is one really sick person, to post delsional nionsense like that.
I did not laugh at all. It is just sick stuff that will alarm the
ignorant.

Remember Heavens Gate and the Hale Bopp suicides.

I Just checked Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy site. He is upset, too. Seems
Yahoo boneheads have posted this nonsense as legitimate news:

Stand by for emails and phone calls from your non-astronomer freinds
asking for advice on this.

A "car-sized fragment" have "devastating effect"? A car-sized fragment
has enough trouble just getting through the atmosphere without burning
up entirely.

The former ATC might have got his discharge on a "Section 8".

The man is French, not American. He formerly worked as an air traffic
contoller in France.

"section 8" is a fictional Army-ese word used in an old TV show called
MASH.

One of the funniest T Shirts I ever saw was one that
read; "So Many People So Few Comets"
