Default Upmass manifest?

Does anyone know if there is enough upmass to station manifested after
shuttle retires to support a crew of 6?

Between ATV and the H-II Transfer Vehicle in addition to the Progress
vehicles, there should be.

Is this "there should be" or is it "there are are current manifests". This
is not so far away that the current manifests are not "firm"! We are
talking just a few months from now. My quess is the current manifests
leave ISS short of the required up mass to support a crew of 6 and NASA is
covering this inportant fact up.

During post columbia stand down, Progress, even with one or two extra
launches per year could only support 2 people.

HTV might have its first test flight later this year according to a
commentator on NASA-TV. That probably means end of 2010. Anyone know at
what frequency Japan intends to launch HTV ?

At the time the station contracts were signed, shuttle was to be the
main carrier with ATV and HTV being a supplement. And ESA/JAXA built
their infrastructure accordingly. It is not clear that they would be
able (or willing) to increase production rates in order to provide
capacity to replace the shuttle.

At the time Bush announced the end of the Shuttle, there should have
been some contracts signed by the USA to buy extra capacity from
ESA/JAXA and the russians to compensate for the end of shuttle cargo
capabilities. I know that the USA arranged to pay for extra Soyuz
passenger capacity.

But have there been arrangements to buy extra capacity for cargo ?

If only Progress can be mass produced quickly enough, at what frequency
would they be needed to support 6 crewmembers ? (with 1 ATV and 1 HTV
per year).

It is "there should be". ATV has only one flight under it's belt, and
HTV has yet to fly at all.

And then there's the COTS wild cards: Space X's Dragon and Orbital
Science's Cygnus spacecraft. If either or both of them work as
advertised, then NASA will have most of it's ISS crew and supply
transport needs met.
