Default Blueprint for Hydrogen Fuel Infrastructure Development Suppressed

Blueprint for Hydrogen Fuel Infrastructure Development - By National
Renewable Energy Laboratory, outlines a 5-year government-industry action
plan to install the hydrogen fuel infrastructure needed for hydrogen
vehicles when they appear on the market in the next 3 to 5 years. January
2000, 15 pages.

http://www.eere.energy.gov/hydrogenandfuelcells/

Hydrogen and fuel cells have the potential to solve several major challenges
facing America today: dependence on petroleum imports, poor air quality, and
greenhouse gas emissions.

The Hydrogen, Fuel Cells & Infrastructure Technologies Program is working
with partners to accelerate the development and successful market
introduction of these technologies. It is responsible for coordinating the
hydrogen and fuel cell R&D activities of the Offices of Energy Efficiency
and Renewable Energy; Fossil Energy; Nuclear Energy, Science and Technology;
and Science for DOE’s Hydrogen Program.

--------------------------------------------------------

Hydrogen Posture Plan

This plan was to be in instituted during 2003-2005.

We have yet to see any progress with the implementation of this plan.

Why?

"Hydrogen and fuel cells have the potential to solve several major

Pure nonsense. Hydrogen today is made from fossil fuels, mostly natural gas
sometimes coal and other things. Or, it can be made from electricity which
comes mostly from fossil fuels. So, how does it possibly reduce
dependence???? How does it help air quality???, except locally. Because the
manufacturing of hydrogen and it use have efficiency losses, there would
actually be MORE fossil fuels used in a hydrogen world than without it, with
more CO2, etc. Hydrogen is a scam that is not a solution to our energy
problems. You will never see it go anywhere because of these facts, Bush or
no Bush.

The only energy source that can fill the shoes mentioned above is wind
power. Making hydrogen with wind-generated electricity is still not
cost-effective. Red herring...move on.

Didn't say that they weren't known, that with current technologies, it
costs more to produce hydrogen than the gains in it's use.
