Default 8" Mirror Re-Coated/ Good experience

the machines exist and I beleive Guang Sheng uses several of them, the
optics are fine polished in the old fashioned way (lap and rouge) but its
done by a machine. The only thing I know about them is that they cost about
$1 mil and are made in Germany.

Curves on the glass are sometimes pregenerated by diamond grinders, other
times the glass blanks are molded with the right curves to begin with. In
either case these curves are no where close to optical quality.

I understand the tolerances and it is true that these seem quite tight, but I
thought I understood that there were some such machine in the commercial market
place. As someone else pointed out, they certainly exist in the
research/military world.
