I'm down to processing the worst of the data taken when the screw fell
out of my filter wheel. In this case the color images were so bad
nothing could salvage them but by cropping and reducing the luminosity
frames I could salvage something. I probably should have used H-alpha.
Oh, well, there's always next year.

Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct.
Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh".

Rick,

beautiful image and quite amazing for an unfiltered shot.

When the clouds give me a break I do have mag 6.5 skies here. I still
don't have the abilities to dig stuff out of the light levels you deal
with routinely. Dark skies make for a lazy image processor!

With no town over 3100 within 35 miles and only 1 over 10,000 within 100
miles I do get dark skies. My township (36 square miles) has only 18
year round residents though 33 who claim residency. But 15 of those are
here only in the summer. Then with everyone in 100 foot trees and what
few having yard lights that are on 40' poles buried in those trees,
virtually none of the light they create ever hits the sky. Like you, at
northern latitudes sky glow is worse and I sometimes get an auroral glow
that covers much of the sky like a town's light pollution. But right
now we're at solar minimum so that doesn't happen often. I'll likely be
crabby about that in a few years! Got to have something to complain about.
