Default ASTRO: Planetary warming

I have two questions. First, I heard on the radio that almost all the
planets seem to be warming now. Is this true? If so, what does that mean
in regards to our current global warming debate?

Second, I want to get a camera to attach to my Celestron 8" SCT. I was
looking at a refurbished Canon Rebel 350d and an older Rebel 300d. The 300d
is more in my price range, would it be good enough or would it be worth my
while to stretch the budget and get the 350d?

Thanks.

Wrong newsgroup, this one is for the posting of Astro Photos, you need to go
post on S.A.A.

There are those who believe that life here, began out there, far across the
universe, with tribes of humans, who may have been the forefathers of the
Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. Some believe that they may yet be
brothers of man, who even now fight to survive, somewhere beyond the
heavens.

The camera question is appropriate but there's not many using digital
camera's here so the advice pool may be pretty thin. I've seen a couple
good shots posted with the 350D as modified by Hutech to increase red
sensitivity to H-alpha. Such camera's are getting to the place they are
nearly as good as entry level Astro CCDs and cost less but having never
used one can't help you. I believe there is a forum someplace for
digital camera astro photo discussions but can't recall where (or was it
webcam? Yahoo maybe? You're subject doesn't come up here much sorry.

You might try the following Yahoo Group: Canon350D-Astro

Sheldon,

planets seem to be warming now. Is this true? If so, what does that mean

This would be a good question for sci.astro.amateur . But take a look at
http://www.realclimate.org/index.php?p=192 for a good explanation of
what's happening.

Second, I want to get a camera to attach to my Celestron 8" SCT. I was

Maybe try sci.astro.ccd-imaging. I don't have a DSLR, just an older ST-7
so I can't speak from experience. Lots of people seem to get good
pictures from the Canon cameras even without the Hutech mods.

Eric.
