It has already been identified as yet another piece of the lander.

Or the swamp gas of Venus causing gravitational lensing making
Sedna appear brighter than usual for this time of year.

Or ice crystals from one of the previous Nasa Mars missions
perhaps one of the lost probes which missed the Martian surface
by 450 miles and went into a sustained orbit.

Or a pan am flight heading to New Zealand across Antartica.
(Thank goodness the solar batteries are wearing down
so they don't have to keep finding stuff. But good news!
They have finally discovered ice on Mars! Sure it took 20 years to
analyse the data and inform the public but one cannot be too careful.
People could go bersek and shoot the president and all that.)
