M62 - Globular Cluster in Ophiuchus
The Messier Ten Minute Challenge
M62 - Globular Cluster in Ophiuchus M 62 (NGC 6266) was discovered in 1771 by Messier. It is one of the most irregularly shaped globular clusters due to its proximity to the galactic centre. At 28,400 light years away it has a diameter of about 100 light-years. http://www.martin-nicholson.info/ten...llenge/m62.htm Martin Nicholson, Daventry, England.
