Default ASTRO: SOHO tricolor images

I went to the SOHO website and downloaded the Nov17 images in the 304, 284,
195 and 171 nanometer spectral lines

I made two tricolor images

color assignment for Soho_304_284_195_svga.jpg
304nm = Red
284nm = Green
195nm = Blue

color assignment for soho_304_284_171_svga.jpb
304nm = Red
284nm = Green
171nm = Blue

I made no attempt to make any adjustments at all to the images, just
desaturated them and copied the data into the R, G and B channels of a blank
Photoshop RGB image with a white background.

see how you like these

Richard,

Cool!!

The colors in your images not only represent different energy levels and
elements, but also different altitudes above the solar "surface". So, it a
way they are "3-D" images!

Default ASTRO: SOHO tricolor images

the problem with them George is that they are taken several minutes apart
and things change quickly on the Sun

i got images as close to each other in time as I could but they were still a
few minutes apart

this is all in the UV" the longest wavelength was 304nm and the shortest is
171 nm
