The day of two sunrises
On September 22nd this year, residents of Los Angeles will wake up to sunrise at 06:41 AM when the Sun comes into view. Meanwhile down at the South Pole the Sun will come into view for the first and only time in 6 months at 1:02 PM on the same day.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okw6Mu3mxdM The two distinct rotations that govern these sunrises are there for always. |

The day of two sunrises

What a shame it is such a miserable camera at the tail end of the Polar night when the last few weeks of darkness will disappear with the oncoming Polar dawn and ultimately sunrise on the September Equinox. The moon is on its way to the eclipse position hence the last dark spell even if nobody appreciates it nor the rotation behind polar dawn. |
