Missed the picture of the century :( (venus)
Whilst observing the Transit of venus today, I missed the once in a lifetime
photo oppotunity. But I'm not upset. The piccy, would have been Venus and a Place both crossing the sun. Oh well. I did manage to see this happen though. ;-) Nothing will upset me today, as I was fortunate enough to see the transit. Even better, I've got three rolls of film heading off to the Fuji Labs ;-) Anyone else taken/missed strange photos like that today? Regards Colin Dawson www.cjdawson.com |

"""Place"""? Plaice, Plate or Plane? There is a great shot a plane passing through on the binaries pix NG. Later Chris "Colin Dawson" wrote in message ... I missed two planes and a flock of birds, but I did get enough fuzzy pictures to keep me happy. Forgot to record most of the TV coverage, though. Patrick Moore's daytime star party looked great fun. I wonder if anyone caught ISS crossing the sun? |

hmm, I might be having a good day, but I still can't spell. It should
have been "plane". Col. "Chris Taylor" wrote in message ... """Place"""? Plaice, Plate or Plane? There is a great shot a plane passing through on the binaries pix NG. Regards Colin Dawson www.cjdawson.com Three planes crossed the Sun from my viewpont. Far too fast to capture on camera and the vapour trails were quickly whisked away by the high winds up there. The clouds were absolutely racing across from the NW from start to finish. Though thankfully with good breaks or thinning. Some larger clouds were expanding so fast that the trailing edges were coming back towards me! A very nice halo towards the end as higher cloud moved in. My camera overexposed it so the sun was just a big glare though the clouds. Immediately after the transit it clouded over and then it rained during the afternoon. You can't really ask for better than that. It helps to have friends in high places! My sympathies to those that missed it. Now, where did I put the after-sun cream? ;-) Chris.B |
