Default News reports of "ET" signal off-base, say scientists

A rash of recent news reports about the detection of a possible signal from
alien life forms is "highly exagerrated," said the scientist who was
originally quoted as the source of the news.

The slew of reports began when New Scientist magazine published a story on
Wednesday about the most promising signal detection to date of the SETI@home
program. The program is a scientific project that allows home computer users
to donate part of their computers' processing power toward the helping the
search for extraterrestrial civilizations.

49 years from now, we will know when Z Cochrane attracts the Vulcans to land
on Earth and make first contact. They will reluctantly give us technologies
over the following 100 years. NASA's current attempt at working with
internmational partners will pay off when it is transformed into Starfleet
which then then eventually join the United Federation of Planets. It will have
to learn to work with Vulcans as well as a whole slew of non humans.

[we will] join the United Federation of Planets.

Actually, Earth will be one of the founders of the UFP.
