BILL MAHER SAID IF YOU GOT EXCITED ABOUT MARS U NEED A GIRLFRIEND

I often agree with Maher and find him funny, however disagree with him
here, whenever there is excitement over something he does not like he
belittles the people that are into it, often times his targets are
correct, but here I can assure him that the correlation between
astronomy and getting women is not a negative one, observing the stars
should not hinder anyone's ability to get women, and should not signal
that you need a life, it is a great hobby just like any other hobby

He also went onto a tirade about the waste of studying Mars and for
trying to get a man to land there, he said the geeks have no women and
are trying to go to Mars to screw Vulcan women

The geek thing seems to be just another stereotype, the people I know
involved in astronomy are far from geeks, and if he is talking about
real astronomers, well I guess when you are jealous of intelligence,
name calling is easy to do


What are your thoughts

Life is more then just a woman. Sure the opposite sex is great. Believe me I
saw 20 naked women last night and they looked great. I only slept with one,
bummer. However there is room for other enjoyments. Last night I got laid
tonight if it is clear I will look at Mars. You can even combine the 2.
Mars is great but to the uneducated moron it can look like just an orange
ball with a white spot at the top. They can't ponder the fact they are
really and truly looking at a distant world.
As far as astronomy being filled with mostly geeks, there are some but few
young pimple poping type. Old boring fun hating men is the majority geek.
Go to a meeting or a star party. How many typical beer drinking, sports
watching (football is the best), joke telling, big juggies loving and fun
loving guys do you see? You know the type who love the Man Show on Comedy
Central. A few but not many. Most are over serious, hates jokes and sports
older men or long haired hippies. Look in the next AL Reflector and look at
the ALCON group photo if it is published if you don't believe me. ALL OLD
FARTS. Well not all I am in there and I am clearly the best looking in
there. Amateur astronomy has a bad stereo type young pimple poping geeks and
the reality is just as bad old fart geeks. Hey why do you think I have such
success trolling? Old farts fall for it time and time again. Look at my last
I beat a goto) which was very bad. Over 100 post and counting. The Man Show
type people just think they are funny and send me fan mail. Yes folks I get
fan mail. They love it. Otherwise I wouldn't troll.

In order for the hobby to be more attractive to others is we need more of
all types of people. We need more women of all ages. We need more younger
men and more fun Man Show type men and we need more minorities. An old farts
club is not attractive.

Who really cares? I've never been able to understand why anybody cares
what entertainers, actors, and sports figures, who have no more access
to information than the rest of us, think about ANYTHING, whether it be
scientific, technical, political, health care related, or anything else.
Most of 'em have a demonstrated lack of any significant grasp on reality
anyway.

Some guys are top posters and other guys are bottom posters. I could accept
either one. But it seems that you're starting a new trend here...you are
neither. I just thought you would like to know that it's difficult to
understand why you write and what you mean to say when you don't include the
