Hello,
I have a 10" Skywatcher. Firstly collimate it. This process aligns your optics so you get a sharper image. It's not hard to do at all. Go to my Web site www.websamba.com/e-stronomy/ and then click on "Resources". I have several links to "Help with Collimation". Read those. You might also want to get some good eyepieces as well. This not only improves the quality of the picture but also allows for different levels of magnification. Other than that, learn the sky, hope for no clouds and enjoy!
