Default Is the horse head nebula feature positive or negative ?

Hi there. You posted:

I wish there was a higher resolution photograph showing this feature in
much more detail. is the horse head nebula feature of that nebula a
positive field or a negative field. Is it foreground or background?

It is a large dark dust cloud superimposed against a bright diffuse emission
nebula.
