Default OT - Find a match for Pat Flannery!

After the recent demise of the 'Ares I fratricide on Orion during abort' thread
and to give the readers of these newsgroups a break from the ordinary rants,
I've decided it's time to find a match for Pat.

I suggest all current readers contribute, including Pat of course, who'll
obviously have thumbs up/down on all suggestions.

To get started, I nominate Sheryl Crow.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheryl_Crow

There are several factors:

1) She is blonde and can dye her hair purple in a "convincing" UFO fashion.
2) She is attractive.
3) She is *single* and *hetro*!
4) She makes no bones about looking for a companion but not finding one (yet).
5) She is talented and rich and could provide for Pat in retirement.
6) She is 'outdoors-ey'. She'd have no problem living on a ranch in North Dakota.
(Something I think Rachael would have a *big* problem with). In fact she
could buy Pat a monkey ranch with a high speed internet connection.
7) She would leave Pat alone for long periods of time whilst on tour so that
Pat, in his frustrations, would continue to post to sci. newsgroups and
continue talking to us mere mortals.
8) She is tech savvy, and no doubt knows a great deal about digital audio tech.
She at least knows about iPods, having posed with Steve Jobs for an iPod ad.
(Very disturbing, btw, it looks like Jobs is performing some bizarre
acoustic gynecological exam, thanks to her wearing the iPod in a low
rise jean pants pocket and Jobs wearing the headphones attached to it).

Let's hear other 'proposals'....

:-D

Dave

PS: Secretly going for the longest reply thread ever seen in a sci.space...
newsgroup.

True some compromises must be had. But Sheryl won out over the
other candidates:

the problem here is the time-line and my time machine is down
so I can't retrieve her from 1960.

The latter, because I know how much Pat enjoys a challenge
and since this is a space newsgroup I see no need to
confine ourselves to terrestrials...

Challenge? You just try to find a dinosaur-infested island where I can
rescue Milla's baby daughter Ever Gabo from an almost certain death to
impress the Mighty M, not to mention finding some plausible means to
explain to her how her baby ended up there in the first place.
Years ago islands like that were scattered all over the Pacific, but you
just try to find one these days.
It's just not going to work if I save Ever Gabo from an enraged coconut
crab instead of a slavering T-Rex, although I imagine there _could_ be a
giant squid lurking in the island's lagoon.... nah, she starred in
"Return To The Blue Lagoon", she'd spot a fake giant squid a mile
off....unless it was at night...during a storm... get me in touch with
Disney Studios... ;-)

I blame it on the Atmospheric Test Ban Treaty.

You don't need Disney for that, rent a copy of this to see how it's done...

Just as long as he keeps his hands (and the rest of his anatomy) off Gabriel

I've figured out a plan for a reasonable excuse for Ever Gabo ending up
on the something-infested island... one day, as Milla and Ever Gabo were
out in the yard, and her husband was engaged in global deforestation, an
eagle descended while Milla had momentarily left her alone and gone into
the house to freshen up her stylish L'Oréal cosmetics look... and
carried the poor tot off to who-knows-whe

You may be right... I've noticed a sad decline in new monsters attacking
Japan since that treaty went into effect. In fact, the last time I saw
Godzilla, he was in a walker with false teeth.
Poor Gamera has to take Viagra even to fly anymore. ;-)
