Mars One is not feasible
I have discovered that in a paper published in 2016, several researchers
undrscore that this project of colonization of Mars with a one trip colony is UNFEASIBLE: An independent assessment of the technical feasibility of the Mars One mission plan – Updated analysis Acta Astronautica 120 (2016) 192–228 They determine (for instance) that the crew would die after 58 days for lack of CO2 for tyhe crops they need. And many other problems. Actually this is a 100% suicide mission. There is no alternative to robotic exploration in the immediate future. As I have pointed out several times in this group, life in Mars was discovered many times since the Viking lander. Life there would be wiped out by human presence, what nobody seems to care a lot about. I do. Life in Mars should be preserved from all the mostly commercial interests pushing for a human Mars mission. We have screwed this planet. Let's not repeat the same destructive behavior in another one. |
