I know they have expereimented with washing clothes. (ironically the same way
I had done mine in the desert) but putting clothes in a ziplok bag with some
water in it). But i do not know if this was just an experiment, or something
they do on a regular basis with some type of clothing.

Yep, those clothes get pretty well sanitized/sterilized on the way down!
Agitation built in.

Once upon a time, part of the westbound cargo on clipper ships heading to
China from San Francisco was dirty laundry; six months later you had your
clean fresh garments returned, along with your block of tea. Maybe the
space parachute will make this practical....
