New images with W.O.FLT100
Hi to all,
I changed my "OLD" Televue Genesis with a William Optics FLT110f7. I can say that the quality of the new refractor is very good and better in respect of Genesis. Now i can post some examples of my firsts shots using the new OTA, i hope you enjoy. Helix (very high polluted region) http://www.fabioh2o.it/Images/DeepSky/deep72.htm M27 http://www.fabioh2o.it/Images/DeepSky/deep74.htm NGC6946 http://www.fabioh2o.it/Images/DeepSky/deep77.htm and here some other NEW examples http://www.fabioh2o.it/Images/DeepSky/deep_index.html I can do also some conclusions about my H9C camera. I can say, after all my experienced images, that it is wonderfull on emission and planetary nebulae...less on Galaxy, on which a large aperture is mandatory. If you see on last images the NGC6946 it's done like other images (same or higher time of exposition) but the result it's not on my expectations. Am i wrong on my opinion?? It is in line respect the kind of subject ?? I thank you for any comment. Best Regards Fabio Acquarone |

That's quite a collection of scopes used in those images. You do very well with moon in the sky. I'm having a lot of problems when the moon gets past 50%. Flats don't seem to work well after that leaving bright and dark edges to the donuts and gradients everywhere. Your Helix and M27 dealt with the moon very well indeed! Glad the new scope is working out so well. It's always nice when that happens! I find I do galaxies better than nebula. I figured it was me. I suppose it could be partly due to the camera-scope combination and the camera's spectral response. Mine is blue sensitive when taking luminosity data which favors many spiral galaxies. I see you used a light pollution filter on the galaxy shot not mentioned on the nebula images. Stefan used to use one but then decided he got better results without it and no longer uses it. I wonder if that is part of the difference. Nebula (if emission as these are) get through such filters better than broad spectrum objects like galaxies though the filter may help the HII regions stand out. A little experimentation might shed some light on the issue. In any case keep the images coming! Rick -- Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct. Thank you very much Rick!!!
I appreciate a lot your comments. Yes, i use every time the IDAS LPS nas, as you suggested i will try a test without it with galaxies. IDAS helps a lot when i am under light polluted skyes, but some test without it's needed. Regards Fabio Website: http:///www.fabioh2o.it "Rick Johnson" ha scritto nel messaggio ster.com... Beautiful images Fabio.
If I weren't saving for a new mount I would be tempted to buy a small APO myself. I have done some imaging with my Skywatcher ED80 scope this and the last night and it is a quite relaxed way of imaging, I can do 5 minute exposures without any guiding at all (with the scope at f/5). Thank you very much Stefan,
i am happy that you can enjot your equipments, it is the best that we can have during our nights. 5r minutes without guiding is a wonderfull way to proceede, i think that you can do a lot better guiding... What camera are you using ?? regards Fabio "Stefan Lilge" ha scritto nel messaggio ... Beautiful images Fabio. If I weren't saving for a new mount I would be tempted to buy a small APO myself.
