Default Artificial Aurora

I was thinking again.

In preparation for deadly solar storm maybe the solar
magnetic shield around earth could be seeded.

Make an ion cloud in an L orbit. A careful choice of
seed is the hard part. The lifetime of an ion
just might be useful.

The goal, to see on earth the solar storm.

I highly doubt that in the event of a "deadly solar storm" that many people would want to see pretty colors.
