Mostly clear in Toronto, the usual rough seeing in daytime:

It was a very long, clear and unusually warm day [72F] here in central Denmark. Blogger is broken so I can't upload my afocal 'snaps'. Lots of AVI files waiting to be pushed through Registax too. I used my 180mm f/12 refractor stopped down to 6" with a Baader AstroSolar film filter. Missed the last hour due to local trees. I was out there from 13.10ish to 20.45ish [CET] with an extra half an hour each end setting up and taking down just outside the garden to maximize the duration without local obstruction.

The clouds should have clued you in.

Is there room in your world of dismissive negativity for a positive response to a fellow amateur's modest success?

The idea of davoid's "legendary" telescope getting rained on is amusing.

Because Snell is a sociopathic asshole, who takes pleasure in the pain
of others (which is related to his legal issues).

Concomitantly, he has no faculty for distinguishing between the
tangible and the legendary. None of my telescopes is "legendary."
Indeed, I can see the telescope in question from where I am sitting in
my den, and it is quite tangible, as it has been since the day I bought
it in 1982*. Wiped it off with a clean towel after I brought it in and
it is none the worse for a bit of rain.

*I kind of enjoy the notion that next year's solar eclipse will occur
in my Questar's 35th anniversary month.

I will grant Snell this: my wife and I are possessed of a sense of
humor and an appreciation for irony, and a certain appreciation for
dark humor. So we did find it a bit amusing when rain began to fall.
When I set up my kit to photograph the transit at around 0600 EDT I was
as certain as one could reasonably be that my session was going to be
cut short by clouds and possibly rain. How much observing would I have
done in my life if, each time I was prepared to open my dome or carry a
telescope into the field, I said "Nah, it could cloud over and rain?"
Not much, I'll wager.

My photos of the transit are at
https://www.flickr.com/photos/primeval/. Anyone know where I can see
Snell's photos? After all, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
Perhaps I could learn something from his photos.

Today is the 17th consecutive day with measurable precipitation in
Eastern Maryland, the longest such period on record. For baseball fans,
the Orioles are the most rained-out team in MLB.

Because, as you can see from the message that he just posted a few minutes ago, that he is a pompous ass.

No legal issues here. OTOH YOU are ripe for getting sued, peterson.
