I was wondering the proper way to make the attribution as I did take it
from the book _Skunk Works_. Should I change that to Kelly Johnson
although it was taken from Rich's book?

It definitely should be attributed to Johnson. If you want to be
thorough, attribute to "Kelly Johnson, quoted in Skunk Works by...".
