Default Name our Solar System

This might be a really dumb question, but I've been doing some reading
for fun and have come to understand the following...

Our solar system is part of the Milky Way galaxy which has a whole
bunch of other solar systems in it, closest being Alpha Centauri. So
what is the name of our Solar System? It seems like a simple question,
but I can't find the answer. Is it Sol?

Thanks.

It's called Solar.
As opposed to the GJ 380 system or the LP944-020 system or even the Alpha
Centauri system.

Youve got it - the "Solar" system. Only one "Sol" and only one
"Sola" and only one "Solar" ... that's us, third row seat 3B.

Our Solar System is called the "Solar System", as simple as that.

Or maybe you would prefer to call it the "Sun System", since that the
central star is named as "Sun" in English.

Of course, as it already been mentioned, the "Sol System" is a
favourite calling used by many Sci-Fi stories.

Perhaps someday it will be the "Robert C. Byrd Planetary System."

goo.

I'm not sure "Solar System" is solid. After all, most popular articles
about other planetary systems refer to "other solar systems". When you
get right down to it, "Sol" just means "sun", so other "sun systems"
doesn't seem like an inappropriate term. There are millions of suns
quite like our sun in the milky way. The main object of significance to
us is Earth. I think if we expand to "other solar systems" we will
refer to this one as "the Terran system," "the Earth solar system" or
the "Home system," not "the Solar system." It just sounds too plain.
