It doesn't take control of them, it just imports them, you can re-export
them to IE if you should need to.

For maximum security benefit though, you should remove IE altogether...

In the two thousand and fourth year of Bob, Steve Taylor's voice said the
following, in wonderful perfect quadrophonic sound with distortion levels so
low as to make a man weep:

That is impossible on a Windows PC though.

Nope, takes about 60 seconds, and a reboot on 98 and 2k, its a bit
trickier on XP, but takes under 5 minutes.

Don't do that - you can't access Windows or Office update without IE,
There /are/ other ways to keep windows updated, but they're somewhat
fiddlier.

I've just had my regular lecture from IE telling me how dangerous it is to
actually download files. I'm fed up with it and I can't see any option to
turn this rubbish off. I shall be installing Firefox as soon as I get
chance.

Details of IE removal please...or a link would be appreciated.

Jo

Isn't it safer to just leave it on the disk, but unused? Download
Firefox and set it as your default browser.
