Oh, yes, there is a cause.

The Earth is a big heavy ball of rock.

To make it spin faster, or slower, you would have to push on it very hard.

Stellar circumpolar motion does not speed up or slow down.

The Sun's shadow on our sundials does speed up and slow down, getting ahead or behind by up to 15 minutes each year (the Equation of Time).

The difference between these two things can be explained by the properties of the Earth's orbit; it is elliptical, following the rule of equal areas shown to us by Kepler, and it is in the plane of the Ecliptic and not the Equator.

So stellar circumpolar motion reflects the simple rotational motion of the Earth, and the solar day reflects a compound motion combining the Earth's rotation with its orbit around the Sun.

The truth has been set before you. If you have ears to hear, listen.

In astronomical issues, the love of God has always surfaced in how things fit neatly together in such a way that they can be understood by anyone who takes the time out to look in the direction of the topics and ideas.

The easiest approach is putting the Egyptian observations into dynamical context where Sirius peeks out from behind the central Sun due to the orbital motion of the Earth -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeQwY...cYaW1okcYgB1NR

Lost in the lifeless voodoo of the celestial sphere cult is the annual apparent motion of the stars which come in season and known in antiquity, even in those Judaeo-Christian texts which are handled so brutally in this era -

"Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?" Book Of Job

There is no reason why people will not accept the genuine principles which govern the crossover between the rotation and orbital motion of the planet with its equivalent as days and years within the confines of a story where Sirius skips an appearance by one day after 4 cycles of 365 days. It is within reach of any high school student much less an adult so therein the problem is not technical but purely an issue of human effort and endeavor to set things straight.

Asked and answered, many times over, there are no phantom rotations.

You might consider changing your medications, the ones you take now are not working so well... they aren't allowing you to think clearly or learn anything new...

The simple reference for the Earth's position along its orbital circumference as Sirius comes into view after a few months absence due to the orbital motion of the Earth is being obscured by worthless 'solar vs sidereal' fiction or the new rubbish using a non cyclical reference for daily rotation.

The hatred for this system where the number of rotations it takes to fit inside an orbital circumference derived from the observation that Sirius skips an appearance of one rotation's worth of orbital motion after a 4th three hundred and sixty five day cycle for a nonsensical 366 rotations in 365 days should be a cause of dismay for anyone but after a decade in this forum where not a single observer has promoted the actual system where days and rotations keep in step it shows how lifeless and spiritless astronomy has become after two and a half centuries worth of voodoo.

For those who have a spark of the Love of God,teach students the proper principles which are founded on experience and not in the imagination.

I agree 100% that days and rotations keep in step, as long as we are talking about regular days like Monday and Tuesday, and rotations with respect to the Sun, like from midnight to midnight or from noon to noon. I will go so far as to claim that virtually everyone on the planet would agree with this... at least, I have never seen anyone actively campaign against such a belief.

Happy now? All those years of gnashing your teeth and howling at the moon, and all for nothing...

Now you can no longer legitimately claim that "not a single observer has promoted the actual system where days and rotations keep in step", without being an outright liar...
