Default Astronomy in Shanghai and Hong Kong?

Hi All,

Next week I'm off to the above on a business trip, with a couple of days off
sightseeing in each place.

Can anyone recommend any equipment shops worth browsing/buying from, or
observatories etc nearby that may be worth a visit?

Thanks

Pete

If your going to Hong Kong go to the Hong Kong Space Museumon in Kowloon.
http://hk.space.museum/

You wont miss it as the building looks like a large egg. If you are on Hong
Kong Island just take the "Star Ferry" to Timshatsu and you are a 5 minute
walk away. If on Kowloon Island just walk south towards the harbour front.

It is a fascinating place and right near the harbour front (Amazing views
towards Victoria Peak and Hong Kong Island).

You will see the flag Yang Lei Wei took with him of the first Chinese manned
flight, history of astronomy & Space flight. It's a great place!.

When I was there in February it was free to get in as well.

There is also the Stanley Ho Space theatre planetarium, Hall of Astronomy
etc, have a look for the replica of Stonehenge as you go in.

There is also Hong Kong Observatory on observatory Road, but it is a
weather observatory rather than astronomical but worth a walk as you get to
see parts of the city not usually seen.

All the best

Andy
