Rock contains 3 parts per million of isotope 6-Lithium. A cubic meter of rock masses 2.8 metric tons. So, a cubic meter of rock contains 8.4 grams of 6-Lithium on average.



A cubic meter of water contains 34.7 grams of deuterium. Only 2.8 grams are needed to mix with 8.4 grams of 6-Lithium to create 11.2 grams of 6-Lithium Deuteride.



So, 1,000 litres of rock and 80.7 litres of water yield 11.2 grams of 6-Lithium Deuteride.



JETTER CYCLE



Dropping a neutron into 6-Lithium transforms the metal into 4-Helium and 3-Hydrogen (Tritium) releasing 17.6 MeV.



The very energetic Tritium atom collides with the Deuterium to produce another 4-Helium and an extra neutron and another 4.8 MeV.



The net reaction is 6-Lithium Deuterium to two 4-Helium (alpha) and 22.4 MeV of energy.



Boron or Beryllium can be used to convert alpha particles into neutrons, which mediate the rate of the reaction and the resulting temperature.



11.2 grams of the material releases 2.71 trillion joules of energy. The equivalent of burning 444.2 barrels of crude oil.



Only 0.12 trillion joules of energy is required to convert 2,880 kg of rock and water into a hot plasma suitable to separate out ALL the materials in the rock and water into its component atoms. This leaves 2.59 trillion joules of energy per cubic meter of rock, and 80.7 litres of water, along with nearly three tonnes of useful materials.



SELF-REPLICATING MACHINES



Additive manufacturing techniques, that take a dense plasma and;



(1) Using a reflectron mass spectrometry technique to separate out the ions according ot their atomic weight,



(2) neutralize the separate streams, and react them with one another to create desired species,



(3) direct the resulting streams of desired species and use chemical vapor deposition to additively manufacture any desired item,



(4) assemble those items into a swarm of similar machines, all operating toward a common goal,



Self-replicating machinery and swarming robots were first developed in 2005 and have grown rapidly in sophistication and capability.



MINIATURE SUBTERRENE



Fission powered subterrenes were proposed and built in the 1970s. A fusion powered subterrene that uses extracted Lithium and Deuterium to power itself, and uses additive manufacturing to make copies of itself, is now possible.

Using advanced 3D printing technique, its possible to create a miniature self-replicating fusion powered machine system. This consists of a cylinder that is 6 inches (150 mm) in diameter and 60 inches (1,500 mm) long. It masses 250 kg and must process 1,900 kg of rock to extract all the materials to make a copy of itself. It must move 25x its length (37.5 meters) to make a copy of itself. The excess material may be used to;



(1) create a self supporting lining for the tunnel,



(2) stored as raw material within the tunnel,



(3) made into other machinery or products,



Operating at 10 MW the device tunnels 500 meters per day and replicates 12 times.



In 1 day there are 4,096 of these machines operating together in a swarm tunneling a face that is 9.6 m in diameter. After 27 hours there are 27,800 machines cutting a face 25 meters (82 ft) in diameter. All moving straight down at a depth of 500 meters.



At that point, the power level of each machine is increased 48x to 960 MW each, to increase the cutting rate to 1 km per hour. The cutting face moves around 82 degrees cutting horizontally now, and begins to spiral outward as it's face expands in diameter, digging ever deeper while maintaining the top of the tunnel face even with the 500 meter depth mark. Replication time is reduced from once every two hours to once every 2.5 minutes! When the face diameter reaches 200 meters (in 45 minutes) the face shape maintains a 200 meter height and becomes more oval until the width reaches a limit of 500 meters. At this point, multiple tunnels are formed with separate swarms, to maintain growth along a Fibbonacci spiral.

As the system expands, it moves beyond the shoreline, of Keiteriteri beach where it started, and dives under the ocean floor. It expands the waste rock with gases to reduce densities of processed basalt from 2.8-3.0 tonne range to 0.3 tonne range per cubic meter. The tremendous energies released at the expanding rock face are cooled by seawater now, and flows of hot water and steam carry waste sand, and pumice, to the surface, forming islands under which advanced underground facilities are automatically built.

All operations stay below the ocean floor until a distance of 850 km is reached from the starting point. Islands then begin to form in a ring around New Zealand and continue to grow outward until a distance of 1,650 km is reached.

At 1,750 km distant from Kaiteriteri there is a ring of 5000 troughs - each radially oriented, 1 km deep, 2 km wide and 5 km long with spherical ends At 1,760 km another ring of 5000 troughs - 10,000 total.

A solar concentrator array 5 km wide and 22 km tall face the sun, and deliver sunlight at Earth normal intensity across 707 sq km providing a 24 hour day/night cycle within. The interior is designed to support 700,000 persons. A total of 7 billion persons in space.

Even if nothing of any significant mineral, crystal or gas element value is ever obtained from exploiting our moon (highly unlikely) by the time we manage to have it situated as interactively parked (aka station-keeping) within the halo orbit of Earth L1, its all-inclusive geoengineered terrestrial benefits will have become worth a trillion dollars per month.

Perhaps our terraforming of Earth isn't going to be all that different from terraforming the innards of our moon. Exploiting the innards of our moon could be the ultimate treasure trove that we've been looking for, because once TBMs have started the process of excavating and other technology processing in order to extract all of the really good stuff, we'll become ideally set to take the next step of exploiting other planets and moons.

Of course the true hypocritic bigots and intellectual terrorist of these public Usenet/newsgroups and otherwise of those constantly topic/author profiling and stalking our GG+ forums as giving us public access to read and contribute as much news and interpreted context as we like, are probably not the sort that's going away anytime soon, especially when most of these clowns and FUD-masters are public and/or ratepayer funded, simply because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain for their upper cast peers by topic/author stalking and trashing or discrediting others for all they can muster.
