Scale of the universe

http://primaxstudio.com/stuff/scale_of_universe/ How dismal to see contemporaries put man at the center of the Universe representing even an intellectual descent from geocentricity ,despite appearances, the reasoning for this no center/no circumference ideology is based on stellar circumpolar motion and its attendant homocentric view, they knew about this prior to the advent of the Earth's planetary dynamics and especially the great archbishop of Cusa who saw the difficulties inherent in taking that view - "And wherever anyone would be, he would believe himself to be at the center. Therefore, merge these different imaginative pictures so that the center is the zenith and vice versa. Thereupon you will see-- through the intellect..that the world and its motion and shape cannot be apprehended. For [the Universe] will appear as a wheel in a wheel and a sphere in a sphere-- having its center and circumference nowhere. . . " Nicolas of Cusa Congratulations guys !,You have a guy at the center of the universe who believes he can control global temperatures all the way out to the stratosphere so if anyone can think of anything worse to add, other than time travel, then feel free as the intellectual descent is more or less complete. |

Scale of the universe

http://primaxstudio.com/stuff/scale_of_universe/ A few years ago in a forum that is intensely dedicated into the no center/no circumference ideology of 'big bang',a lone creationist entered and inquired about the observation of a faraway galaxy and got the usual treatment about every-valid-point-is-the-center or 'no center' thingy. He then concluded in his own innocent way that if the oldest galaxy was 13 billion light years away then the Universe must have a 26 billion light year diameter !,well the guys went intellectually apoplectic after this revelation but I just got a kick out of it. I see you try to correlate time with distance by direct observation by using 'lightspeed' but the original idea by Ole Roemer, even though I have many reservations about the orginal procedure using orbital comparisons between Jupiter and Earth represent an astronomical adjustment known as the 'Equation of Light' reflecting position displacements when objects move over a distance of 186 000 miles apart from each other, something quite different than the utter vomit inducing idea that a person occupies the present and everything they see is in their past.Who wants to consider such things when we have so much imaging power on Earth and in the space to work on visual correlations with effects in climate, geology, biology and a myriad of different topics. I do not mind people pursuing the 'big bang'ideology as it is,after all,a logical conclusion of an Ra/Dec framework, but I do mind that it is expressed openly as an achievement. If the guys in the other 'big bang' thread want a galaxy at a maximum 13 billion light year distance they are automatically forcing a conclusion that the Universe has a 26 billion light year diameter. the universe must be 26 billion |
