Landing of the Space Shuttle Discovery with Astronaut
Noguchi Onboard
[STS-114 / International Space Station Assembly Resumption
Mission(LF-1)]

August 9, 2005 (JST)
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency(JAXA)

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) advised that
the Space Shuttle Discovery with Astronaut Noguchi of JAXA onboard
(STS-114 / International Space Station Assembly Resumption Mission,
LF-1) successfully landed at 8:11 a.m. on August 9 (Eastern Daylight
Time, EDT), or 9:11 p.m., Japan Standard Time (JST), on the same day
at the substitute landing site* of Edwards Air Force Base in
California, U.S.A., to complete its mission in 13 days, 21 hours and
32 minutes.

* The change was due to bad weather at the originally scheduled
landing site at the NASA Kennedy Space Center.
