Did he think of that? That scumbag is an idol to the progressive idiots out there. He got $5 billion in government subsidies for Tesla and Space-X. They still don't make a profit, despite MORE tax-payer paid incentives of up to $14,000 PER CAR (nice for rich people to help them buy a $100,000 Tesla). |

It can do 235 miles on a charge, not bad. Still not cheap, cost of 3 Ford Fiestas. I figured , this is some gov. conspiracy to convert old economy into gadget economy! Gov. found a useful idiot to throw his ideas and G's money around. Some thing like the dot.com economy of the 90's. LOL! |

The mileage of those cars was already shown by European tests to be considerably less than claimed. Real-world conditions and all. |

The mileage of those cars was already shown by European tests to be considerably less than claimed. Real-world conditions and all. All cars are like that! On gasoline cars the EPA estimate all ways higher, because it was tested under ideal conditions. After the car is driven 5-10K miles, gas/millage settles at some what lower. I think, for electric cars as time goes by performance of the batteries goes down too. With electric cars, if it breaks down, I don't think there's a mechanic at every corner, who can fix it. |

Electric cars are mechanically simpler and therefore easier to repair (although like all electronics, these days that essentially means board swaps). When there are enough electric cars, there will be more mechanics who can deal with them than mechanics who know what to do with a gasoline vehicle. In 20 years most of the cars on the road will be electric. |

: All cars are like that! On gasoline cars the EPA estimate all ways higher, because it was tested under ideal conditions. That is apparently, not universally the case any more. I can't speak for any other models, but my Corolla, bought new in January, had highway mileage on the sticker of 36 mpg, but on the open road, I get 38-40, depending on how hilly it is. I've seen it as high as 42. It's not much over 6k miles so far, but it hasn't gone down at all that I've seen. After the car is driven 5-10K miles, gas/millage settles at some what lower. I think, for electric cars as time goes by performance of the batteries goes down too. With electric cars, if it breaks down, I don't think there's a mechanic at every corner, who can fix it. Right now, cars are being sold with pretty comprehensive warranties, which means you'd be a fool to take it anywhere but the dealership for servicing. But I suspect that independant mechanics will surprise you. The basic skills are the same as any other car. The only differences are in the details, and there are *way* too many models for *any* mechcanic to memorize the details for all of them. That's why they have manuals with detailed instructions. The real key is whether or not they have the diagnostic software for a particular model. -- Terry Austin Vacation photos from Iceland: https://plus.google.com/u/0/collection/QaXQkB "Terry Austin: like the polio vaccine, only with more asshole." -- David Bilek Jesus forgives sinners, not criminals. |

I talk to mechanics, even garage owners, said- diagnostic equipment is very expensive to buy than train employees too! One guy said - he spend $30K for software to locate parts nation wide! EV cars still have some way to go! |
