Default For continuation

The original astronomical reasoning that generates the 24 hour day was
based on the return of the Sun to noon and a correction applied to
equalise the natural variation in the Total length of the day,not to be
confused with hemispherical changes in daylight-darkness asymmetry.

When Copernicus recognised that the Earth had an independent axial
rotation the antecedent Equation of Time correction was adapted to
axial rotation at 15 degrees per hour.

This gorgeous transfer of principles from the pre-Copernican use of
the 24 hour day to its heliocentric adaption requires no reference to
the stellar background and is one of the greatest Werstern adaptions of
older principles.

I would love to this presented graphically for the first time but those
of lesser intellectual and intuitive intelligence insist on a different
justification using the Sun,the Earth and the stellar background based
on a 1461 day cycle.
