....Most interesting point? He makes the comparison between Lockmart's
winged CEV proposal, and the ANSA Icarus-class starship from the
"Apes" films. Why neither I nor Pat made that observation before is
embarassing.

The Icarus was a lot more streamlined, the Lockheed CEV was a dead
ringer for an early 1957 Dyna-Soar design that is shown on page 391 of
Miller's "The Dream Machines".
